What magickal message wants to guide and support me and those who find this message through the energy of the week ahead?

Five of Swords

Book message - A man lies in the desert, detained by 5 upright swords, which pierce roses. Meaning: disgrace, weakness, blame, late insight, acceptance of the unavoidable, clear perspective, new knowledge.

My message - To me, this card is about finding another way.

In the image, the man appears trapped, surrounded by swords that threaten pain if he moves too hastily. But if he brings his limbs inward, gathers himself, and rises from his centre, he can stand without harm.

There’s always a way through, but it might require stillness, awareness, and a new perspective.

The swords themselves are pointed downward, their blades partially hidden. This suggests that while pain may surround us, it’s not always as sharp, or as inevitable, as it seems.

This card asks:

What happens if you stop fighting?

What truth becomes clear when you return to centre?

Where is the path to liberation hiding in plain sight?

Sometimes the most powerful move… is no move at all.

Pull inward. Stand tall. Choose the gentler exit.

Where in my life am I bracing for conflict, when what I really need is a new approach?

(Explore where you might be caught in old defensive patterns, and whether there’s a softer or smarter way forward.)

What would it look like to reclaim my power without needing to win? (Can you stand tall without proving a point? What if liberation came through peace, not resistance?)
